Crafty Christmas In July | December Daily 2018 Days 19 and 20!!!
Hello Lovelies and welcome back to #craftychristmasinjuly, a month-long YouTube hop I am participating in that is hosted by Heather Little of Heather’s Crafty Life! Today I am sharing a layout from my 2018 December Daily album for Days 19 and 20. To see all the posts and videos I have created in this series, click here: Larkindesign December Daily 2018.
Let’s have a look at Day 19. My photo for this day was of our son Nick, who had a match for the National Academic League that day. This day was notable because the match was held at the Board of Education Building in Winston Salem, so a special treat for them!
I chose the burgundy red of Nick’s shirt as my guiding inspiration for this entire layout and made sure to incorporate papers, patterns, and embellishments that also had that color. I added a simple star from Ali Edwards onto the photo itself.
I had two 3×4 pockets, so I chose a patterned card and a graphic journal card for these pockets. The Falala card contrasts with its handwritten pattern, and I added the felt star along with a word strip as simple embellishments. For my journal card I wrote out my story and adhered the simplest grey star in the corner.
Adding in little bits in between each page has been a whole lot of fun in this album, and for this layout I chose one of the giant AE tags with the gold embossing. The tag stands so well all on its own, so all I did was add the number 19 with a bit of black and white twine. I then punched it to fit into the album.
Day 20 was all about Natalie’s chorus concert, which was incidentally held at the boys’ high school. I loved having everyone there to cheer her on! In fact, cheering seemed to be the theme for this layout!
I absolutely love this wreath patterned paper, so I cut it down to fit into the 4×6 pocket. I cut it so the circle was in the middle of the pocket and then layered some word sentiments over top. I also added a few wooden stars just to add a bit more dimension to the card.
My photo offered a bit of white space for my journaling. I masked off the photo and stamped lines using my trusty old Project Life roller stamp and then added my story. My only tip when masking photos like this: make sure your washi tape isn’t too sticky!
Of course I had to do something fun with the back of the tag, so I chose the red and white star pattern and cut it down to fit onto the tag. I added the number 20 and the rubber word sentiment using redline tape, and these two days are complete in the album!
Make sure you hop over to my YouTube and vote on the names of my reindeer! Also, here is the full list of participants for the YouTube hop. I hope you will check everyone out!
