Kids Scrapbook Albums Layouts | Addison Edition | First Job

Larkindesign Kids Albums Project | Addison Edition | First Job

Hello everyone and welcome back to our Kids Scrapbook Albums Project! Today you will find inspiration for your kids scrapbook layouts. Since Project Life is on hold for me at the moment, I am taking the opportunity to get some work done for our four kids, and particularly our rising Senior, Addison! If you’d like to see all of the layouts I have done for this project, follow this link here: Larkindesign Kids Album Project. Today I have a hybrid scrapbook layout for you, so let’s get started!

I began my layout with a digital template from Sahlin Studio, which can be purchased here: Sahlin Studio Year of Templates Vol 16. I am also using the Sahlin Studio Like A Boss collection. These templates are so easy to work with in Photoshop, and if you’d like to see some tutorials on how I work with them in Photoshop, I have quite a few tutorials here: Larkindesign Photoshop Tutorials.

Our Addison is our oldest, at 16, and he is a rising Senior. He just received his Driver’s License not too long ago, and the first thing he wanted to do was find a job. This layout is the story of how he got his job at McDonald’s! He came to me (proud mom moment) on his first day, when he was ready to go, so I could snap his photo. Once I laid out my photo, story, and elements on the template, I printed them all out and cut them out to adhere them to the page.

It was so easy to choose a couple of patterned papers, a few digital elements, and then print them out. I always print only what I need for this exact layout, which saves time and ink.

The template shows you where to place embellishments, and I love using a combination of the digital elements + physical products I have in my stash. Here I have used the circle bit, the washi tape, along with a wooden star from Elle’s Studio.

Hybrid scrapbooking gives you options for adding words and dates as well. I created my text in Photoshop directly onto the template, which allowed me to tell more of the story. I then dated my layout using a date stamp, at the bottom of the journaling cards. I repeated another wooden star at the top, along side the word strips and the scallop strip. Did you notice in the process video how I layered each strip so the edges were hidden strategically?

This was such a cool layout to pull together, and was made to easy with the template. Thanks for following along with me today! See you again soon!
