December Daily 2019 Day 01 ft. Sahlin Studio Holly Days
Hello Lovelies and welcome back to my December Daily 2019 album project! Today I am sharing Day 01, which I started back in December for the Sahlin Studio design team. Today I am going to finish that layout so follow along with my process video here! This day in my album began with a simple layout about myself and Alan, my husband. I had limited time so I added the photo and the journal cards quickly, and then left options opened for the rest of the page. I figured it would make lots of sense to include the rest of the family (duh!) so that is what I did.
Some details of the left side include the journal cards that I chose from the Holly Days digital kit. I loved this beautiful floral pattern and it contrasts beautifully next to the red Holly card. I added one of the tiny white number tags to the floral pattern as a simple touch.
You can see my journaling, which I added directly to my photo using these gorgeous photo templates. I used this spot as a reminder to soak in all that this holiday has to offer, as we will only live these days once! I used a photo from earlier in the year that we had taken on a date night. This makes it easy to start your album and helps ease into the photo taking for December.
This vellum was created using the star patterned paper in the Holly Days kit, which has been printed on vellum. So pretty! I layered these hexagon numbers right onto the vellum in a cascade down the page. This is something I actually can’t believe had never occurred to me before: to use a sequence of numbers on a page instead of a single number. I am in LOVE!
When you turn the vellum you find the photo of the family, actually taken on Thanksgiving this year. Day 01 is always just a great place to share who is in the album, who this is all about.
At the bottom I used the plaid card and layered that gorgeous floral on top. I added a word strip from the kit as well, along with a wood veneer piece from Elle’s Studio and a few puffy sticker dots. Thanks for stopping by today, see you again soon!
